Improvement works on way for Elvanfoot area
Published: Tuesday 19 September 2023
Essential resurfacing works are to take place around the village of Elvanfoot.
The A702 between its junction with Leadhills Road, Elvanfoot and Daer Water Road will close on Tuesday 26 September at 8am for up to five days.
No motor vehicles (except those engaged in the work and emergency service vehicles) will be able to park or drive on the road during this time.
The signed diversion route will be as follows: A702, A76, B740, B7078 and A702
Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services, Colin Park, said: "We are aware of the disruption that this road closure will cause and hope that the long-term benefits will be valued.
“Your patience and understanding during the works would be much appreciated.
“If you can avoid the area during the works please do so, but if not please leave extra time for your journey.”
